Chapter 5: The World Outside the Window
You know, whenever I watch the news lately, one question keeps popping into my head: Who is actually speaking up for people like us?
I’ve been following Raghav Chadha recently, and some of his points really hit home. It feels like he actually understands the ground reality of what it means to be living, working, and trying to build a future right now.
I wanted to log a few things he’s been talking about that I found incredibly interesting:
We aren’t just "Golden Goose" machines! The thing that stood out most to me was what he said about the middle class and taxes. He mentioned in Parliament that the middle class is like the bird that lays the "golden egg," but the government is just squeezing us dry. We pay so much tax, but what do we actually get back? He’s pushing for higher income tax limits so we can keep some of our hard-earned money.
Walking in the shoes of Delivery Boys: I found this really cool—he actually spent time understanding the life of delivery agents. He talked about the massive pressure of "10-minute deliveries" and how it literally risks their lives on the road. It’s nice to see a leader who isn't just sitting in an AC office but is looking at the real struggles people face on the streets.
Support for Content Creators: We spend so much time on Instagram and YouTube, right? Well, he is one of the first leaders to speak up for 'Creators' in Parliament, pushing for better laws to protect them from unfair copyright strikes. It feels like he actually understands the digital world we live in today.
Thinking like a CA: Since he is a Chartered Accountant himself, his logic on the economy actually makes sense to me. He doesn't just give boring, detached statistics; he focuses on how the average person can save more and benefit from new ways of investing.
Final thoughts...
I feel like we desperately need more leaders who explain complicated policies in a way that we can actually understand. What do you think? Do you feel like we’re finally going to get some tax relief?
Anyway, that’s all for today's entry!
Do you think the current policies are doing enough for the modern middle class and the digital generation?
